There are other things that affect how you respond!!
But I would say that with the new Protease Inhibitors. Your odds are very high somewhere between 70% and 86% I would think.
Just so you can judge
I was 1a 3.8 million virial load 56 yrs old have had it 30 plus yrs. Have treated 2 other times and had good responses but no golden ring. This time I went UND at 4 weeks and have not looked back, Got my golden ring and I am not giving it back!!!
Waiting on week 12 VL now will have it Saturday.
Everyone is differant but these new Protease Inhibitors kick butt.

Oh Ya I was told by Incevik nurse that Females respond better to treatment then Males so there is another reason to do it. Another plus for you!

Here is an example of some stats from the FDA site for incivek, one of the newly approved drugs.  Table 10 shows that those that have never tated befor e and  achieve eRVR (undetected in 4 weeks) have a 92% chance of SVR(cure).  If those with eRVR continue for 48 weeks they only increase there chances to 93%.  This is why they typically stop treatment for those folks at only 24 weeks.

Ift al shows that those that are not achieving eRVR, when they continue treatment for 48 weeks, they also have a 92% success rate.

Rates for people who have treated before are also looking pretty good and there is some info on that.

The second newly approved drug victrelis also has some positive stats on the FDA site.

I chose incivek, I thought the numbers looked slightly better for my situation and history plus treatment time looked like it could be a little less.  You may wish to research a little based on your history and status.

During the trials, incivek and victrelis were called teleprevir and boceprevir, you can probably find more information on study results searching on these too.  Good luck with your decision and hope it works out for you.

Have you had a biopsy? Generally at 13 years post exposure you have very little liver damage if any. Having a biopsy could help you make a decision whether to treat now or wait for even better treatment. Your odds are somewhere in the 70-80% range as one never nows if they will be undetectable at week 4 until they start treatment.
Good luck,
Dave
