Hi all, dialysis and blood transfussion, does this go along with all the liver problems.  I have posted a few times asking questions, however I guess my brother in law is not capable of understanding the doctor.  Now he says they want to put him on dialysis and give him a transfussion and he refused both.  He was suppose to be going to the doctors to have the fluids drained, but that did nt happen.  It is all he can do to walk, and all these visits wear him down.  His girlfriend isn't much  help. They don't ask any questions at all. I gave them a list of questions and they were afraid to ask when they went. Oh well I guess I can't do anything else, or can I

What is reason for dialysis and transfusions? Kidney failure probably but for transfusions?
These procedures were a source for Hepatitis, but for quite sometime blood has been screened for HCV and HIV.
The fluids being drained, are you referring to Ascites? This is usually caused by portal Hypertension as a result of Cirrhosis.
