collodial silver

OK, this may not be the area to post this, but it may be as good as any. My question is about collodial silver and can it be harmful. I have friends who say this is the answer to most all our health problems. Supposedly no virus can live in it's presence after a few minutes. They make it at home and drink anywhere from a teaspoon to an 8 oz. glass of this daily! I have heard that you can even inject it. It seems to be quite popular around here. I am afraid it could cause some problems.

If you know anything about this, I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks
