If you are not already seeing a hepatologist, I would suggest finding one and talking about treatment options. Do you know your genotype? How long have you had the disease?

At stage 2-3 your liver can still regenerate if you successfully eradicate the virus through treatment. It is important to not drink alcohol at all, eat healthy foods, exercise and maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight can be as damaging to your liver as alcohol.

It's difficult when you first get diagnosed, there is a lot of great information on the forum and people to answer your questions.

Welcome to the forum - Dave

Not sure what your question is but if you're confused, here's are some photos based on Batts-Ludwig:

For your grade of inflammation, see photo (c):

For your stage of liver disease, see photo (b) and possibly slightly into (c):

Not too bad, huh?

Many people have hepatitis c and don't know it, so you're lucky you found out. As Dave (Spectda) said, you can make lifestyle changes as of now to not needlessly add to liver deterioration, until you gather up your resources and decide to treat at an optimal time for your own situation.

Very welcome to the forum and ask away, especially if you're in shock from just being diagnosed. It seems to hit most of us that way but once you learn more, it's not so bad.

Best wishes,

Susan

It's great that you know; let the research and battle begin.   Mine was definite bridging fibrosis - the biopsy was so small the diagnosis of stage was 2/3plus.  I was definitely feeling it with my digestion problems and stayed as liver-friendly as I possibly could.   I did clear the virus in 2008 and hope this is the beginning of your voyage to do the same..
