continue treatment

by Mary, Nov 27, 1999 12:00AM
Dear Doc,
My husband has been on the combo therapy for 6 months and is awaiting the results of the blood work to see if he should continue for another 6 months.  The treatment has been VERY difficult on the family and we have read that the Hep C most likely will return after treatment has stopped.  So, I question if the continued therapy is really appropriate?  It has been so difficult for him.  Also, what are our options if the blood work shows that it is not working?  His doc says there isn't much more to do.  Will he be a good canidate for the "pegylated" treatment when it becomes available?  We are at such a crossroad.  Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
Thank you..
