Tomatoes can irritate as well, so maybe they are aggravating your mouth.

Sounds really gross....but I found Vagisil to really work well on the sores in my mouth corners.

(I seriously hope I learned that particular trick here on the forum, I'd hate to think what frame of mind I may have been in if I learned it on my own, lol!!)

Good luck!  Hang in there!!

Water, water, water.  Any kind of moisturizer or layer on the skin to keep water in will help.  Moisturizer lotion type soap in the shower helps a little.  Chapstick and eyedrops in your pockets.  Covering your eyes with sunglasses and not sitting under overhead fans helps.  I'm still occasionally bothered by dry eyes 5 1/2 mos. past EOT but all of the rest, flaking lips, cracked heels, rough skin went away within  4-6 weeks after stopping the meds.  I've always wondered how the heck those meds could use up all the water in my whole body.  The dehydration really does go away again after EOT.  I haven't carried a water bottle for months but can't seem to make myself get rid of them.

i had really dry eyes on treatment too I think most people do because the meds dehydrate you so very, very much. And yes unfortunately some people do get the mouth cracks - it's like the same thing.

Are you drinking half your body weight in ounces of water a day?  Like if you weigh 120 you should drink at least 60 oz of water minimum.  It's so important that you do this.  You can substitute gatorade or whatever for it but water is really the best.

Be glad...I got cursed with the tongue ulcers - they were just so painful and I had them almost all 72 weeks.

But - I'm cured and in the end it was way worth it (ps two weeks after tx the ulcers went away so  I figure it's really about that long till the interferon gets completely out of you - same thing with the tears in the corners of your mouth they will resolve too).

Buy some good lip balm and use it constantly that's really all I can think of aside from more water intake.

hi there, i use baby wipes on my face, and also to clean my eyes, i also use cutip to rub in cetaphil lotion around my eyes (it does not burn or sting)  oh the nasty cracks on side of lips i clean with cutip using peroxide and put neosporin or vaseline on it morning and nights. dermatologist also gave me a creme to put on it, said it was a fungal infection. i got all of my bag of tricks on this forum from people in here and if it was not for this forum i would of quit the treatment.

Burred vision--the tx has given me seriously dry eyes. I went to an eye doctor and he told me to clean my eyelids daily with a washcloth (to get the crusty stuff off) and use Systaine Ultra drops am and pm. It helps a lot.

Cracks on mouth sides--get a good vitamin B complex and take it daily. Or boost B vitamins in your diet.
