dental and interferon

Does anyone out there know if they have had problems with there teeth after they got off tx?  I finished 72 wks of tx and now I am having problems with me teeth.  I had dentist check up  before tx and 3 times on tx but they would do any of the work.

I'm on week 54 of 72 and just started noticing some mouth/teeth issues that I didn't have before. It looks like my gum line is receding and my teeth have a dingy color to them now. I need to brush myself several times a day  and can only use baking soda to get rid of what feels like a coating or plaque on my teeth. I was hoping to avoid this problem, but I think the longer dosing is heck on our teeth too.

Congratulations on finishing the long haul and best wishes for SVR rthis time around.

also over 40 weeks in therapy  and would be recommendable to use a very soft toothbrush and to use a sronger mouth  wash against bacterial infections or cause by dehydration.
I was surprisingly at the doc yesterday  because of gums and after using a bacterial mouth wash within a day much better.
The teeth or gums do get sensitive on treatment and brushing them several  times could make  them even more sensitive

I finished tx 3 wks ago. My gums are still sensitive. If you have ever had periodontal disease it sometimes causes it again. I would have my teeth checked every 3 to 6 months

I have "cured" so many years ago I forget... my teeth have become so horrible I am just waiting for them to fall out any day now. The dentist try their best to keep up with the horrors of being "cured" but they mostly throw up their hands in (nearly the same) frustration (as me).

I hear that dentures are a real pain also...

I ended up having all mine pulled after having terrible issues after tx first time and during treatment 2nd time.

Dentures are not so bad.. LOL

Hi, about that scummy stuff on your teeth.......my dentist told me that it was from dehydration (after TX was over 6 months).  She was right, at least in my case

I know how you feel. I have been of tx since last Dec. My teeth have always been sensitive, I have always used sensodine. It helps a lot. I also had periodontal disease. I am due for a check up now. I hope It hasn't come back. I don't know what to do about the discoloration. They seem so much darker.I might have to put crowns on my six upper anteriors  My husband owns a dental lab I work there. I can get the crowns free if I can get a good discount from the dentist. The only other way to get rid of the discoloration is to bleach them..
Good Luck

Have any of you guys heard about the gum-healing properties of Green Tea?

Drink Green Tea For Healthy Teeth And Gums
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/03/090305183128.htm

Grapes have natural Flourine in them. Floride is the artificial version found in toothpaste and isn't as effective as the natural Flourine in grapes. Black Cherries are also loaded with Flourine.

If a person drinks Green Tea and eats more grapes and black cherries... they will have healthier teeth and gums.
