there is a thread re the Mediterranean Diet...something that emphasizes veggies, fruits, nuts, small amounts of white meat or fish, brown rice...lots of good water, not too much sugar...I always feel better after a big veggie salad (I'm not a monk, sometimes I like a little cheese sprinkled on top...with maybe some multi-grain crackers, etc....you can make simple soups too...also like herbal teas....in the mornings I like some oatmeal with soy milk and a little bit of maple syrup (real little bit) and some blueberries, etc...and some eggs...everything in moderation...
