dizzy & nauseous

Twice this week I became extremely dizzy and nauseous.  Once in the morning and once in the evening.  After lying down for a few hours, I was back to normal (as normal goes on tx).  Has anyone else experienced this?

I was wondering if it is my blood pressure getting low. I think I will buy a BP monitor for the heck of it.   I do beleive my hb is low, just from the way I feel.  Labs should be back today.  But, this is a new sx.

I've taken off a couple days of work.

I've experienced these symptoms myself and quite a bit more this past month. You might get the answer in your bloodwork. I think you saw my post about what's going on with my bloodwork. Both neuts and hemo are low. I have a sinus and probably ear infection that won't clear that I'm sure isn't helping the dizziness. Are you on a PI trial? I have introduced some new sides from the 2 drugs that I'm taking, but I didn't think it was anything I couldn't handle. The latest news is the study pulled me off all meds for a week and a half until my next appointment and more blood is drawn. Taking time off work always helps me feel refreshed. Hope your feeling better.  Anne

When my hgb dropped I was dizzy and nauseous. Felt better as soon as it went back up a little. Very scary though. Hope you feel better soon.

I've experienced the same thing on and off. I thought it was my BP, but I take it twice a day and it's OK, sometimes a little low, but it never coincides with the dizziness and nausea. I think it's the meds for me anyway. I'm really glad it's not everyday because the nausea and dizziness combo lay me out! I can push through most things, but not them. I sleep it off and usually the next day or so, I'm ok again...at least ambulatory!

Annie, I'm not on a trial, Riba/Interferon.

It was a little scary and new to me.  I don't know what would have happened if I would have been somewhere other than home when it occurred.

I'm calling about my labs in about 15 minutes, we shall see.

Just called and my hb is down to 8.7 - so maybe that is it.  Who knows.  It was lower that that before and I don't remember having the dizzy & nausea like this.  My ANC is also down to 810 (he always wants me to reduce when these drop) :(

Naturally, dr is on vacation but nurse is going to try to get the procrit order.

does anyone like my picture ???  me being dizzy????

Duhh... I just now noticed the picture! Very good! I can't believe you were lower than 8.7. I think that's bad. The study flags mine if it goes below 10. It's at 9.8. I've heard you could need a transfusion in the 7s. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I know that low hemoblobin is not to be taken lightly. My doctor is on vacation, too. They had to call the doctors at Schering Plough to decide what to do with me. I'm on a trial.

it is due to low hb. You HB is not good. Talk to doc for procrait or  what he think suitable.

When my husband's hgb dropped down to to the 8s he experienced similar symptoms: dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and shortness of breath, too.  I echo the others about getting on procrit right away -- it takes a while (between 2-4 week) to make an impact, so the sooner the better.  When my husband was prescribed the procrit at hgb 8.1, it wasn't soon enough, and his hgb continued to crash, and ended up needing transfusion when it dropped to 7.3.  He's been on double-dose procrit (80 thou IU/ml) since, and hgb is still in the low 9s.  We asked the nurse if the vomiting was a sx of anemia, but she wasn't sure (from what I read here, though, makes me think it's very likely).  Hope you feel better soon!
And ps, yes, loved the pic... thought for a moment I was getting cross-eyed lol. :) Take care, ~eureka

I "am" concerned about it dropping lower, my doc being on vacation, and the nurse trying to get the prescription through.  Plus, it's a specialty pharmacy, so I have to get it delivered and it's the weekend.

Everything that will go wrong will happen in the evening or on the weekend.

Oh and there is the low ANC going on.  I wonder why these high and low spikes happen on this tx?
