drinking water in empty stomach

one freind of mine told me that drinking water immedeatly after wake up from the bed with out brushing or washing the mouth is good for the health, the cause he said our saliva in the mouth will help to clear all bad things in our body
is it true ? dose our morning saliva has that much power ? in my scoll age I heard morning saliva is posion
please clear me from this confusion

If morning saliva was poisonous, we would all be dead.

In some cultures, they use morning saliva to massage babies minor birth defects. The old ladies in Indonesia swear by it. I don't know if any of this has been scientifically proven, but it sure is not poisonous.
