embarrasing question

by chryss, Oct 18, 2007 07:14AM
could excess flatulence be a symptom of having hep c?  i don't know what else to relate it to other than having changed brands of milk thistle recently.

many thanks!

let me ask u a question.... I have heard some people talk about milk thistle...what exactly is that? I have never heard of it.

oh sure..... milk thistle is an herbal blend of silymarin and some other sort of filler i imagine.  silymarin is known to be a good support for the liver.  also good is dandelion.  you can find these herbs at your local health food store.  the "new chapter" line has recently come out with a new herbal blend with elderberry in it.   from what i understand, it gets into your blood stream pretty quickly and kills any new replica of a virus.  i have been taking it on and off for the last 3 years since i found out i have hep c.  and honestly, i don't see where it has made much of a difference and that may be due to the fact that i have not really taken this whole health issue very seriously up until very recently.  my plan is to start treatment of interferon and riba, along with these herbal supplements,......in addition to quitting alcohol.  maybe then, i can eradicate this completely  from my body.

I take milk thistle and have no  problem with flatulence. However, I have had reactions to herbs ( mainly emotional, anxiety, etc) so anything is possible. Try changing or doing without milk thistle for a few weeks and see what happens.

I heard here that Milk Thistle should not be taken while on tox. But I don't know why. Anybody want to help me out on this?

Even Dr. Zhang said not to take milk thistle during tx. I think it's because milk thistle could interfere with the INF/RIBA you are taking to kill the virus. I don't think they will work as well.

Oh I understand. My friends toy poodle used to wag her tail, wiggle her rear end real fast and pee when she was happy to see people she liked. I should have known the farts were your way of showing how happy you were to see me cause you were wiggling your rear end as you were farting. Man I am thick as a brick at times. I was happy to see you to, sorry for the 'boring handshake and hug,' I hope I can fart when I am happy to see you the next time. I think it shows more love than a  hug or is that just me. Well anyway I am going to try to fart as an expression of love and happiness from now on - thanks. What we learn on forum sometimes is priceless. thanks buddy.

Apparently, I don't spend enough time in polite society. This has been quite edifying. Mike

I'm laughing too, but unfortunately the farts haven't happened. Should I eat something special? Did you make a face when you farted at Macys, I can't remember, I was in such a rush, but I don't remember if you were squinting. Does squinting help? I don't want to experience a 'fudgy," while in public until this 'fart awareness' is better understood by All. I would say a 'fudgy' would mean 'true love' and meant for someone who you wanted to be in a serious relationship with and I don't want to be misunderstood. Might send the wrong signal to someone I don't want to be involved with.

Well anyway see ya at the "Fart Awareness" parade on Saturday. We need to spread the love. Bring your nose plugs - the love is intense at times - people from all over the world will be there. Peace bro.

Practice Michael, thats all it takes is practice. I still don't have the hang of it, but I feel encouraged because Gauf offered to teach me this weekend at my house. Men are much better at this but with my competitive nature I won't give up until I 'get it right.'
