end stage liver disease

my husband is 46 years old on a liver transplant list doctors say he has 8%liver function he started drinking again i dont know what to do to help him what could happen to him

In order for your husband to survive, he’ll require a transplant. He will be removed from the list if he continues to drink; I assume you know that. Will he be responsive to clergy? Other family members? Is a trip to AA in the picture; a sponsor might be able to knock some sense into him?

Can you have him read in here? Maybe talking to others in his position might help?

To put it bluntly, your husband will die if he doesn't stop drinking.
And he will also die if he doesn't get a transplant soon.

Show him this NOW.

I had only 8% liver function when I had my transplant . The surgeon said I  had 4-5 weeks to live.

If he cares for his life he must quit drinking.
If he won't stop you may have to face the fact that he wants to die and you should make funeral arrangements.

I usually try to be kind but sometimes strong words are needed to shock people into seeing the truth.
