Yes when my hemo went down six points in like ten days and was going under 9 I never felt more miserable in my entire life and it was very painful to faint - I never knew how your brain felt when that happened.....it hurts.

I would say it felt pretty severe to me at the time.  Each persons pain is their pain no matter what kind it is.....and trying to get to work every day feeling like that was just HORRIBLE.

anemia hurts for sure i am under 10 and male, although i am getting used to it , but it is hard and i am so tired its stupid. yet somehow we manage, its amazing how much we adapt and learn to cope ,  in my mind its a test run for when we are really old and generaly broken. ;-)

Thank you because my doctor made a statement that you don't take a pain pill for fatigue, I say bolognie only a person who never had severe fatigue would make a statement like that. Thank you for responding.

You've never treated so I don't know if you understand the difference between fatigue caused by hemolytic anemia and that of generalized fatigue.  No amount of pain medication will help with hemolytic anemia when you're gasping for breath and any type of exertion causes you're muscles to start rebelling.  The only thing that helps relieve that type of pain is Epogen.
Doctors don't generally prescribe pain medication for fatigue.  They try to find the cause and work towards eliminating it.  Extended use of pain medication can increase fatigue and cause addiction and I do not think I've ever heard of pain medication prescribed solely for fatigue so I have to agree with your doctor.

I believe Fibromyalgia is pain AND fatigue at the same time.

"Fibromyalgia produces widespread pain, disturbed sleep, and exhaustion from head to toe."

I don't know what your situation is but since I'm taking that quote from this site, I'll post the link as well.  Still requires addressing each symptom individually if it were something like Fibromyalgia.  At least, I believe so.

mabey you should consider treatment for your hep c . i treated and that terrible hep  tiredness has gone away . of course its up to you  . i also was an addict for 25 plus years . opiates and pain pills . i got an energy from them . no matter how tired i was , the pain pills perked me up . this ruined my life after a while .  i treated and it worked and i feel great .   good luck   most doctors are not going to maintain pain meds for a extended amount of time .   now that i am clean , i understand why .    bob

Bob,

the pain pills perked me up . this ruined my life after a while .  "

Boy I understand you there......at first it was great energy, then it was more energy with more harder pills and then it was just plain old addiction.  so yes I agree pain pills aren't really the answer for energy.

Aheart I thought you were treating.  If you are not then be very careful with the pain pills - it's an easy road to go down but not an easy road to get off of once you are on it and it happens FAST.

I'm hoping to get tx when the new meds come out. It will better the chances to work with hep c with cirrosis (cirrhosis). Don't misunderstand I have pain & fatigue, going 10 years with undxed diabetes left me what very bad neuropathy in feet & legs, I'm trying Neurontin again for that, four days so far so good. I don't know if I will be able to work & tx or even be able to afford the meds needed but I want to try! If theres a will there is a way and I have plenty of that. Thanks to all for your wise words!
