my girlfreind was tested twice for hepatitis c using the ELISA and was found out positive in her pre-employment..but she got tested in her province twice and the results are negative.. She got tested again in St. Lukes hospital which i believe is a very reputable facility in metro manila and the result is also negative..Now we are both confused and dont know what to believe in anymore..now we are waiting for the confirmatory result which was done in DOH.. any insights on this? what are the chances of here getting a true negative result?
It sounds like she might have gotten a false positive with 1 Elisa , it is only an anti body test .. false positives have been known to happen .
Have a Viral load / PCR test run . It will tell you definitely if there is any virus in her blood or not .... and if so how many . That is the test to know the amount of virus in the blood .. It's the only way to really know what's going on .. If there is No viral load .. the results will report that as Undetected , if there is infection , they will report the amount of virons per ml.
thank u so much for ur info..im really confident in this matter.. Kc i wont doubt un 2 result nya na negative plus pa un negative ne result nya sa st. lukes wc uses very advance facilities. r u a filipino?
