Now my hgb has gone up to 12 and my doc lowered my epo dose from 30 000 to 3000.he wants to look if I stay stable with this dose.
How does your docs handle that?
Do you think this is o.k ? They check my hgb every week now.

I would guess your closer to the 10 range, if so and being your off the incivek and have started procrit, myself i would want to go back on full dose.... That said its best to talk with your doctor... All sounds good though.

Don't know how accurate it is or how dependent the response is to patient weight size but 1 unit of blood can raise hmg about 1 IU/ml.  So if you are are at 8, could be at 9 almost instantly.  My doctor monitored hmg and added Procrit after it hit 9.2 and was still dropping and after 4 weeks, 4 shots it is up to 9.9.  Goal is not to reduce Riba if at all possible.

This is something you really need to ask your doctor about, yes a BT will bring your HGB up pretty quick, but you still might me at a level that requires reduced riba until the procrit kicks in which likely will take a few weeks.
