gallbladder trouble

I posted last week about gastro problems I was having and had thought they had something to do with  my becoming insulin dependent.  This was not correct as a few people pointed out.  My blood work showed my liver enzymes to be okay for now and my blood sugars were good. An ultrasound of my gallbladder showed considerable sludge and an ectatic common bile duct, gallbladder must be removed.  Thanks for the posts!

BTW... I had my gallbladder removed10 years ago. They did it laproscopically with 3 very small incisions and I was up and headed for home within 6 hours. I was a little sore for a couple of days and that was it.

They told me that if my gall stone had been much bigger they would have had to do it the old timey way where they do a large incision and it takes days to get better. I know things have changed a lot in 10 years. I hope you get to do it the easier way.

From what I understand gallbladder is very, very painful and I am sorry you are going through this - at least now though you know what it is that is wrong and they can fix it for you bing bang boom.

Good luck with the operation!
