ggtp

I have had blood work done for insurance purposes and my liver enzyme results were as follows: AST 50, ALT 31 and GGT 399.
I have read a little bit on a raised GGT and understand alcohol may play a role in this rise...i am a moderate drinker and in the past it has been heavy...I have abstained from alcohol since receiving these results and am wondering how long it takes for the enzymes to return to a normal reading...i was also wondering what other factors play into this...additionally, last fall i began experiencing pain in my big toe joint, this has progressed to my other toe and just this week into my wrist...i mentioned it to my chiropractor and he asked if ther was a history of gout in my family...could a build of uric acid affect the biliary enzymes in my liver...i appreciate your expertise in answering these questions and any recommendations for testing for follow up...thank you

And if you grow a little medicinal herb w/the tomatoes, you'll gooble those 'matoes right up!

When I started tx in may 2002, i planted a garden w/lotsa 'matoes and herbs.  By the end of tx 24wks later I was mellow, no longer 'yellow' and the 'matoes were heavy on the vine.  All my riba rage went into hoein' and sowin', weedin' and reapin'.

This yr I'm plantin' a 'victory' garden w/lotsa herbs and 'matoes.  For you know its true what the old song says, 'Only 2 things money can't buy, is true, true love and home grownm tomatoes!'

Those who haven't started treatment yet might find this study of real interest.  A group of Italian researchers discovered that eating tomatoes helps reduce ribavirin-induced anemia:

<a href=http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=15220675&dopt=Abstract><b>Tomato-based functional food as interferon adjuvant in HCV eradication therapy</b></a>

Further studies have indicated that throwing tomatoes can be highly useful as an outlet for riba rage.
