hair dye

I dye my hair faithfully every month.  But I am afraid to now that i am on tx. afraid the harsh chemicals will make my hair fall off.  I used an organic brand I found at whole foods, didnt like much because it didnt cover the grey completely.  But.....its better than blindly grey i guess.  anyone have any suggestions on hair dyes?  I'm to vain to grey yet.  (character defect of mine).

I have not started tx, yet. So I don't know how it will be. But, I have started using natural hair dyes. I use a French product, as I live in Europe. I find that it doesn't dry out my hair at all, after dying it. It actually becomes more shiny and feels softer.

There is a US site called naturalhairdye.com with a range of different natural colors.

All the best, Marcia

Agree unfortunately during treatment I let my hair grow out as it fell out.  Even without using the peroxides my hair was so dry and brittle what didn't fall out broke off.

So then i bought some beautiful long wigs and just started wearing them. One day I would be light blonde, one day brown with long blond streaks, one day strawberry blonde.....it was fun and I could match my clothes to my hair LOL seriously!  Nobody ever really noticed that the color changed because it was mostly subtle but I did and I used to laugh and laugh in my head when random people would compliment my wonderful colorist and which salon did I use?   :)

I certainly understand about the greys though - I was lucky and didn't have any but let me tell you...........my roots were so God awful it might have been fortunate that the hair mostly did fall out - nothing worse than that white trash blond hair with black roots look when you work at one of the world's biggest beauty companies ;)

I lost close to 60% of my hair on tx but what was left I still colored. It just made me feel better. My daughter is a stylist and she knew what products would be safest. I would call any salon and ask the colorist. Good luck to you.  Merlino  PS it comes back.  I am 9 months post tx (and SVR) and my hair is finally back to normal. I did have to cut it very short (and I always had hair past my shoulders) but it was worth it. it looks so much healthier.

Stay away from the peroxide colors.  Your hair is going to get dry, brittle and break off during tx.  Peroxide is also going to dry your scalp out worse when you are on tx.  If y ou HAVE to dye it go back to the organics ... but it's best to just live with it until your done.
