Why are you asking? Didn't you have fun in it?

Hang in there. New stuff is always difficult. You will survive. Take care of your own wellbeing. There are plenty of stories of single people doing it alone successfully. Some even prefer it.

My biopsy came back really good, not going for treatment at this time. Wait until you get yours, wait until some of the wiser members of this forum give you some insights. One day at a time.

Hi Princess,
Sounds like you had your biopsy. I just had mine. No big deal huh?
You don't have to write those addresses down. You can copy and paste them into your browser and then make a bookmark. Any one of the 3 will get you to the other 2. In fact, we are in one right now as we speak!! Go to the top and click on stuff and it will unfold for you!!

I posted this on another thread but here it is. You aren't lucky to have HCV but you are lucky to have Genotype 2.

There are 3 buttons at the top of the forum:
"Post a Question"  "Browse Archives"  "Email This Page"

The first one!!!
:)

If you got to this thread or other threads via search engine, you might not be on the main forum page which is:
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/hepatitis/wwwboard.html

and

HTH

and. . . .last but not least, if you wan't all the forums for medhelp.org you start here:

Hey Princess,
FYI: Don't take offense, please. Don't type in Capital Letters...it's kinda like shouting. Once you start typing in lower case, you'll get used to it.
Moving on...Your dr. will know your genotype from blood work you have previously done. Ask him/her and ask for copies...
I have geno. 1A...and hopefully people w/geno 2 will jump in here 'cause I actually don't have the answer. I do know that 2 is usually easier to treat than other genotypes. I encourage you to do a search (upper right hand corner) and browse the archives...there is a treasure trove of info. Also, to get more feedback, you might want to start your own thread. I hope you are taking it easy after your biopsy (bx) and getting some rest.
Good night and God Bless
Yvonne

HI YVONNE...I JUST HAD MY LIVER BIOPSY TODAY.BLOOD TEST SAID I WAS GENOTYPE 2,BUT NOTHING ABOUT 2A OR 2B.ILL ASSUME THE LIVER BIOPSY TELLS THAT ? SO I DO HAVE A CHANCE OF A CURE BECAUSE I HAVE GENOTYPE 2 ? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 2A AND 2B ?THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT !!

Well for one, you have a better chance of clearing this virus than many of us due to your genotype. I have been on the same treatment (tx) for 35 weeks (or so). It's doable. You might want to talk to your doc about starting on anti depressants 6 wks. before injection. Many dr's suggest this. Also, speaking of Dr.s..you should try to find a hepatologist (possible at a local Univ. Hosp.?)... Many gastroenterologists just don't have the interest of reading up on all the ever evolving new treatments and protocols. You have found a wonderful site here for information and support. The next bit of advice I can give you is do your own research...that is key. What stage of liver disease did the biopsy show? Are you geno 2a or 2b?? Another piece of advice: Get copies of your biopsy, every time you get blood work done, keep a copy. If you go to a lab...you have to ask each time for a short form to fill out...and they will mail or fax you your own copy.
I am sorry to hear hubby is not being very supportive...maybe if you ask him to do research with you, he can get a handle on what's going on.
You will get through this and I wish you SVR aka Cure (Sustained Virological Response)
Sincerely,
Yvonne

well young person  if you are a young person (16yrs old ) as you can see you made a decision to do something i and i am  sure all have done at you age is doin; having that "dirty" three letter word "SEX". at least you have the internet today in my day the internet was not an option to find answers.  so at least i see a young person seeking advice about what to do after having sex. back in my day i was to busy high fiving my buddies to worry about what to do afterwords,  so applaude you for your question.  i am sure you will be fine but i am not a doctor so i would suggest you talk to someone professionally (doc, nurse, etc. ) someone who is obligated to hold your confidentiallity. you do seem to have a good head on your shoulder and i am sure you will be fine!  :o)

as for you other jokers; as they say in the military drop your socks and lift your @$#%  it is time for inspection!!!!   : O )

i had sexa few times what should i do

You should stop it.
I didn’t realize you’re only 16 years old.
If you get pregnant you have few options. If you keep the child, your parents or guardian will be raising 2 kids, you and the baby. At 16 you do not have the financing or maturity (if you were mature you would all ready know this) to raise a child on your on. You can pretty much forget pursuing a real future. You have a child to raise (a child raising a child).
Abortion, I am not going to voice my opinion on it but it is a choice that could haunt you the rest of you life.
Adoption, another choice that could haunt you and the child the rest of your life.
Apparently you have put little thought into all of the STDs out there. If you did, you would not have posted your question, even though Hepatitis is not a STD.
You have your whole life ahead of you; don’t throw it away because you are trying to rush adulthood. It will come soon enough and trust me, it is not all it is cracked up to be and you will be wishing you could go back in time and be 16 again.

I would choose wiser if I had the chance. I had too much "clueless abandon"...believe me. I was born in the early 60's..experimenting and holding on tight to that era with all my long haired friends... when i was way too young.

I thought of 77...'cause a number of my friends died around that time...I could maybe save 'em?

why would you want to go back to 77 when you have all of the sixties to choose from!!

I mean, if we're gonna go back in time, let's do it right!!!  giggle...Ok, I see you are too young to know what the big diff was....but trust me....I've you are looking for clueless abandon that's a good place to start!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Jim I think you dont see what this really is. Since HCV mutates all the time, it is likely to develop some mutants that will spread easily through sex, these will then actually spread much faster ( through sex) and are therefore selected for, treatment is only 50% effective and reinfection can always occur, 5 Million have it in the US alone, no vaccine is possible due to the lack of neutralizing antibody

therefore

these sex transmittable strains and HCV as such will explosively grow and effect more than 50% of the population in 2009, so having any sex then is really a problem:

so this was actually a timetravel post from a forum member in the not so far  (2009) future, that jumped back in cyberspace

It should warn us

Do you have Hepatitis C? Maybe you think you have been exposed? That's what this forum is all about. I see from your profile that you're only 16 years old. If you think you've been exposed to Hepatitis C, or any other sexually transmitted disease for that matter, probably best to see your family doctor and explain things.

All the best,

-- Jim
