Usually it treats like this:
1. additional tests
2. if positive -> decision of treatment or not treatment
3. if Negative - >enjoy your life

Sonia - I'm not sure what you mean by borderline.

Did you have a doctor tell you this?

Did he mean you have HCV but are borderline for treatment?

Did he say you are borderline for the viral load?

Did he give you any further information?

The reason the people above are quipping the way they are - is because Hep C either IS or IS NOT reactive (positive) you either have it or you don't.

However, you could have it ---- and have very low levels of viral load --- or none at all - which could mean a couple of things: One the disease hasn't progressed... or Two... you have the antibodies because you had HCV but spontaneously cleared it. Or who knows.

First - I would find out what your doctor meant.

Because in the very short sentence you wrote --- it makes it very obvious that either you didn't get clear information (and hence don't know very much about HepC ) or you have been "played" or are "playing" this board.

But continue to ask questions - and try to get more information.

Although there are a lot of unknowns about hepatitis C and its treatment, one clear thing is that either you have it or you don't have it.  There are tests that a doc can order to determine if you have hep-c , the variety of hep-c (there are several called geno types) and an approximation of how many of those virus-things are floating around your blood.  Most doctors, even primary care doctors, will be famailiar with these tests.   If ou think you have hep-c you should tell you doc that you think that you do and ask for those tests. Then you'll know for sure.   If you were told you were 'borderline', who told you that and was it based on some sort of blood test?

They have many screenmanes...and they are mentaly ill and need help from a professional.!!
