I prefer aspirin for headaches. So I asked specifically about taking it while on tx and was told by the NP at the liver clinic that it was fine as long as my platelets were not under 100.

Aspirin therapy is actually used sometimes for people with cirrhosis, one baby aspirin daily.
So, I really don't know why it isn't used more often.

not MEAT bb.. MEAL

haha

i have headaches constantly, ibuprofen does nothing for them the only thing that works for me is aspirin and tylenol works a bit...  tylenol is safe as long as you dont over do it... so i go to the aspirin when nothing else is working i know we not supposed to be using aspirin but sometimes i have no choice i have tried everything else i can... except a prescription, thats the next step

Tylenol is hard on the liver. Ibuprofen is probably a better choice for treating a headache .

Riba didn't give me headaches, but Pegasys did. Sometimes about all you can do is suffer through it.  :-(

All I can tell you is I go to a very experienced liver clinic in S.F.
They made sure I understood to take riba not just with a light snack, but with a substantial meal, or it can cause side effects.

I don't normally eat breakfast but because I want this treatment to work, and be as easy on me as possible, I've had to change.
In the morning, I have a big breakfast, then swallow my riba.
My team, said it was fine if I took it 5 hours later with lunch because at dinner, it kept me awake.
So I take it again, with a big lunch.

Since the riba is causing your headache, it very well could be because you are not taking it with food.

I can understand you being told not to eat red meat but you still need protein, eat chicken, fish, peanut butter, eggs, beans and/or tofu.

Drink lots of water cause all the drugs dehydrate you so I would not limit it to typical guidelines. Food is key as well so eat a meal in the morning and evening before taking Riba.  Tylenol is the next choice.

In my experience if I drink too much diet coke or not enough water I will get a headache so hydruation especially the same day you do your shot, is key.

Are you taking your riba with a meal? If not, you should be.
And be sure to drink lots and lots of water.
