ps to add to my last comment, not on your butt. OMG!!!
Ok the other night I was a tad itchy on my chest no great rash just getting a little itchy so half asleep I thought I was grabbing hydroc. cream and it was menthol rub that I have been using for my hip and leg pain. OMG, it worked great. Just a thought. I have been using it now instead of hydro. cream, cant hurt. The vanishing scent one.
All good advice here. The only thing I would add is Preperation H.
Hi I know how yu feel I was having itching attacks and they were horrible. I tried Benedryl pills, then gel, lotions, etc. I finally got some Atarax and that helped some. Try to only use detergent for sensitive skin. I remember someone on here that washined her things in plain water and that helped her.
I can feel your pain, it has not been that long since I had the convulsive itching
Use baby wipes for other area, it is supposed to be better than TP
One person suggested Oatmeal application for itching. Another said to protect the burning by using Vaseline or diaper rash ointment. I hope this is not too much information. When my body was itching I thought I would go nuts. It does get better, hang in there.
My clinical person told me to take the benedryl as directed on the bottle and not wait for the itching, it is harder to control once it is out of control.
The incivek burns the mucus membranes in the rectum so the discomfort, discomfort is such a benign word for the problem.
Good luck, I will go through my journal and see if I missed anything

If lotions, hydrocortizone and OTC antihistamines don't help, agree with roostermom to see the doc/dermatologist for an antihistamine like Atarax. Although I haven't tried it, I've heard that oatmeals baths work very well, also. As you probably know, avoid hot water for showers/baths. Good luck.
Ask your doc for a prescription antihistamine.
I use Benadryl tabs and hydrocortisone cream for the rash and itching on the body. Also a mild lotion to combat dry skin.
The benadryl may help your anal itching. Also keeping sqeaky clean helps. Many of us use Huggies baby wipes every time we go. However, if you have hemorrhoids you can also use hemorrhoid cream and hemorrhoid suppositories and they do help.
Keep the room temp. low.
Resist scratching.
Cold packs on a particularly itchy area may help.
Hope that helps.
Take a luke warm shower with Dr .Bronners magic soap. Pepperment You can get it at health food stores.
