Steroids is what made my HCV "wake up". I felt fine until my pcp put me on a few weeks dose of Prednisone then all hell broke lose. In a way I guess it was good since doctor starting testing for different things because I felt so bad, i.e fatigue, joint pain, etc.

Like anything else it is a risk vs benefit decision that your physician should help you decide. It also depends on what you need the steroids for and what is the method of administration. For example, taking a drug like prednisone has a much bigger chance of adverse effects on the virus than does a steroid injection for a trigger finger, for example. You really need to chat with your doctor about this. He/she knows your medical history and knows more about the risks and benefits of whatever it is you are treating.

No, you should not.  Steroids can cause viral replication in Hep C patients,  they suppress the immune system and put a strain on the liver.
