hep c and cryo

If my hep c gets cured will my cryoglobulinemia can be cured also ? I have severe case I have to take phareres once a week and chemo every 6 months  [not working] don,t know what to do I think my doctor gave up  thanks joe

Hi Joe, I had cyro before I treated my Hep C.  They cyro is caused by the Hep C. I was miserable with the cyro.   I am now close to 6 months post tx and my cyro is gone.
I can  understand how you feel.  If I were you I would find a hepatologist and ask about new treatments.

Yes my understanding is that when you treat your HCV you are in essence treating your Cryo. According to the HCVAdvocate Cryo is one of the most common conditions associated with hepatitis C There are a few members with experience at this who are still active on the forum and there are several decent thread that ought to provide insight.

Here is a view only PDF link that talks about Cryo being an extrahepatic manifestation of HCV. It says 95% of the people with Cryo have evidence of Hepatitis C or the antibodies. It goes on to say that the approach to treating the Cryo is treating the underlying condition: HCV
