hep c and heart murmur

have hep c and was on both interferon alone and then combo without success. going to try the peglated interferon but Dr. wanted EKG, chest x ray and biopsy done again before starting the peglated.
EKG is fine, but my primary Dr. noticed my heart murmur is more pronounced and ordered an echo done at the cardiologist.
QUESTION: I know interferon and the combo can give you heart problems, which I suspect has increased my murmur. If the cardiologist finds no particular damage, can I try the peglated without worry?
