hep c testing/tx for people with no insurance

i was diagnosed with hep c, back in 2007, and at that time i was told i did not need tx. I am concerned now though because i have not gotten any further testing since then, and am worried that the disease may be progressing without me being aware of it. Are there places you can go have this done at a lower cost? I do not have insurance at this time, but our family makes too much to qualify for medical help. Are there research studies that would provide testing and tx options if indicated?

I got my cure through the VA system.  There are other ways to get help with paying for it.  Some of the drug companys and low income state agencies can get you help.  Get on the phone.  Hep c is more and more curable now.
If somebody has hcv they always need tx.  Unless they like to be ill.
Sooner or later it could get you.  It's called the silent killer.

I read awnsers for your questions not long ago...Someone else will offer you the information. Im sure...All I am putting in is this. I had health ins in sept. but I went into a clinical trial. Its a good thing I did, because on 12/01/2010 my health ins was terminated and they didnt even notify me. I found out on my own. My doctor also told me my geno type was the most comon and the hardest to cure and that I did not need tx. because of the stage 0. I did get my geno type while insured and labs a few times and a biopsy..Sometimes the trials do a biopsy..The thing about a trial is is they run labs more often. and you might get Soc with maybe a p. i.. Im glad I did it because so far I have not grown 2 heads and Have no virus showing. @ wk 12 or 16... I believe others here have mentioned other avenues. good luck to you ...Ginger
