My husband felt better after about 8-12 weeks after ending each of his three failed treatments.  However, the "wash out" period following treatment is considered to be 6 months, and I have read on this forum that it can take up to a year.

The time is different for each med and varies a bit between individuals, but generally the Incivek is eliminated quite rapidly (probably several days or a week), the interferon takes about three months to eliminate, and the ribavirin can take up to six months. Most people feel relief of the Incivek side effects within a few days, but at the end of treatment the side effects fade away very gradually, with most people feeling somewhat better in 3 to 6 weeks, but it often takes 12 weeks to get to the point of feeling pretty good again, and it can take longer. I've heard doctors say it can take a year to get all the way back to 100%, but I think most people are close enough within 4 to 6 months (this is my personal guesstimate from much reading on the forum).
