Since marijuana has been proven to cure many kinds of cancer, as well as other diseases, will it cure hep c? I want to know, and volunteer myself for further studies.

I simply asked you if you believed it.  C'mon cures everything from being over weight to cancer.  Put it on a mole and it goes away ?  The active ingredient in weed is THC, making oil is just another way to ingest it.  Sorry but putting some hask oil on your skin does not introduce it into your body.  You can eat it, smoke it, or vaporize it.

I got your clinical trial right here I smoked weed for 20 years. I have Hep C and my liver Is grade 3. And I just finished 24 weeks of tx, I guess I'll know in July if it worked.  So if THC is a cure all why did I have Hep c, dang if I'd of only known, I could of avoided the 24 worst weeks of my life.

That video is pure garbage.

Who is insulting who? You can put words in my mouth if you like, but all I said was the video was interesting, not that I believed it. I had no intention to ridicule or insult anyone, just constructive criticism about a dubious subject, that someone had a question about. Remember, the miracle antibiotic penicillin was discovered in mold. Cheap and effective.  I have volunteered in a CT, with people who have genotype 1 infection, and at week 20.

1 born every minute has been proven. How sad that someone would come in with some crazy ideal such as this then have the nerve to ridicule the people who actually have spent years trying to help with valuable scientific research by say volunteering for real trials......talk about being insulting...........sad is right.

Lots of know it alls around today judging from high horses.

You didn't watch the video, and with the info you believe, why bother?  It has nothing to do with smoking pot. I was mostly responding to the cancer side of a few posts. You know what is said about condemnation before investigation. It would be great if a cure was found that is not so deleterious. Personally I wouldn't mess with hemp oil to attain a SVR.  To my knowledge detrimental health effects form the use of pot has never caused death. I wonder if INF / RBV has ever killed anyone prematurely.       Pedro

pot does 7 to 10 times more damage to a liver with hcv than alcohol does, depending on which study you look at....any way you cut it, that's a deep swathe of damage.

Might as well play russian roulette as smoke pot with hcv...either way, you'll be dead a lot sooner than the rest of us.

I don't smoke wacky tabaccie but..... ran across this video the other day before starting TX....... interesting.  Maybe anyone interested or afraid to start Tx.should start their own scientific Clinical Trial, taking all necessary precautions, with professional help, if you could find that.        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjhT9282-Tw       It's called   RUN FROM THE CURE.                 Happy Trails , Pedro007

"Since marijuana has been proven to cure many kinds of cancer"

God, where have I been all this time? I thought scientists were still looking for a cure for cancer.

I really need to get out more.

sorry to say digger, but I think you have toked on one to may joints. I have never heard of weed curing cancer or anything for that manner. It does help people when on chemo treating cancer with appetite , etc.
It will not cure or help Hepatitis. Actually it is bad for someone with Hep.

good luck

Weed doesn't cure cancer, but I think it might cause stupidity.

actually large quantities (1.5 grams per day) of marijuana may exacerbate fibrosis thus leading to cirrhosis.

Environmental factors as disease accelerators during chronic hepatitis Cq

Progression of chronic hepatitis is highly variable among individuals, as the result of several host, viral and environmen- tal factors. The latter have been extensively investigated in order to ameliorate hepatitis C outcome, particularly in dif- ficult-to-treat patients. Over the last decade, several studies have shown that a combination of HCV infection and high levels of alcohol abuse results in synergistic acceleration of liver fibrogenesis. In addition, recent data indicate that light alcohol intake may also exacerbate fibrosis progression. It has also been suggested that cigarette smoking may enhance activity grade in patients with chronic hepatitis C, thereby increasing progression of fibrosis. This assumption mostly relies on epidemiological evidences in the absence of pathogenic studies. Finally, cannabis use is increasingly emerging as a novel co-morbidity in patients with chronic hepatitis C. Indeed, regular cannabis smoking is an independent predictor of both fibrosis and steatosis severity in infected patients. In addition, experimental studies have shown that cannabinoid CB1 receptors enhance liver fibrogenesis and steatogenesis by distinct mechanisms, therefore strongly supporting epidemiolog- ical findings. Altogether, patients should be informed of the deleterious impact of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis use and should be offered appropriate support to achieve abstinence.
