hepatitis

Do I have hep C? LIVER ENZYMES ABOVE NORMAL and HCV test >11.0. I am scared please help me understand..

The test you had indicates you were exposed to the virus at some point. Sometimes the antibody test can be a false positive but with a >11.0 result the chances of it being a false positive is less then 5%.

Like the other poster said you need to get a PCR test to confirm. 20% of people fight off the virus and are left with just the antibodies and no active virus. Hopefully this will be the case with you.

This means you you have tested positive for  HCV antibodies. You will need to have an HCV PCR test that checks for the actual virus in your blood to see if you have an active infection or if you were infected and your body fought it off on its own. If you do have active (chronic) HCV infection, you can treat it and be cured so dont stress out over it. Theres no need to be scared...theirs great meds out there now!
