Hep A can be fatal. Rare but it is true.

Hep A is transmitted through contaminated food and feces. Hep A is NOT a serious illness and never becomes chronic.
Hep C is a blood borne virus, transmitted by blood transfusion/organ transplant/intravenous drug use/sexual activity (rarely). Hep C is a VERY serious illness which affects the liver and can be fatal.
You can get a vaccine for hep a and b but not hep c. Some doctors believe a vaccine for hep c may never be discovered. it is a very tough nut to crack.
If you have a risk factor for hep b and c, get tested. Hep B is a classic Std and sexual activity is the most efficient method to transmit.
If you have a risk for b and/or c, get tested. Knowledge is power.
I believe hep a can be through food and drink. Hep c is blood to blood contact. IV drug use, tattooing, piercings, and other blood related activities.
You should vaccinate for hep a and hep b. No vaccine for hep c.
