I was diagnosed with hepititus c virus and my primary physician took a blood draw last week then referred me to an oncologist can you tell me if that is an indicator of liver cancer?

Did your pcp doctor explain what particular result in your bloodwork is leading him to refer you to an oncologist?  Have you had any imaging done (ultrasound or CT-Scan or MRI), or a liver biopsy?  If you have hep c you should be seeing a hepatologist or GI --- how soon is your scheduled oncology appointment?  I hope it's a precautionary measure...
