hernia with hepatitis c

i have hepatitis c and i've developed a hernia,, how risky is it to perform surgery on my belly buttom while i have hepatitis c.

There is no more risk to you than for any healthy person unless you have very late stage disease. I have cirrhosis and I've had three surgeries since that diagnosis...all unrelated. My gastro and my surgeons have said there is no extra risk.

I had a double hernia repair, both sides, 4 inch scars, and had no ill effects. Don't worry about this.

I am due for surgery too - one side. While symptoms arose during treatment, I don't think it is related (I understand these things are incredibly common).
