hey all...no problems just a question

So it looks like we are going to be starting soon and the nurse asked me if I wanted to do a 90 day mail in supply or choose a pharmacy.
we havent heard back what the actual copay on the TX is going to be but if anyone can tell me what worked out best for them I would greatly appreciate it. The goes is to spend as less as possible.
I was thinking of just doing the 30 day supply 1st in case there are some problems that arent forseen and I cant continue with the treatment.
Michael.

You need to call your ins co yourself and find out if your copay is the same for a 1 month supply or 3 month supply.  If it is you should definitely go that route.  Some ins co's won't do the the 3 month thing for injectables.  The only way to find out for sure is to call.

I have a couple friends who paid the same copay for the 3 month supply and it was a lot cheaper!

Once everything got approved I've never had any problems with my mail order company.

Another thing you might find out from your ins co is whether you have a calendar year limit on prescriptions.  I didn't realize I had a $2,000 limit and after that the ins co would only pay 50%.  Obviously I capped that my second month of TX.  My 3rd month was a shock to find out it was going to cost me $1677.00 per month.  So find out if you have a prescription limit.

Good Luck to you, Valorie

Deb - did you ever find out what your supposed to be doing or are you still sitting there staring at the walls and yawning?

There is nothing worse than being at a job with nothing to do except look at the clock and watch the minutes drag by.

What is your job anyway?  If you don't mind my asking.  I'm a sales rep for a decal printer.  I had a travel job for several years, but I got tired of always being gone.

Now I've had this desk job for two years and I miss being able to come and go as I please.

Do you still see the snakeman occasionally and is he still smarmy?

I work for one of the biggest beauty companies in the world in Sales Operations. They are finally starting to funnel me work now (thank GOD) even it's boring stuff I don't CARE just give me something to earn my check before someone says "what do we pay her for anyway?"

It's a boring job not a career. I missed that boat somewhere LOL. People who have jobs they love that have value - are so lucky!

But you know as a single mom all I really care about is the $$$ and insurance. I'll do whatever they ask until I am better from this disease I guarantee you that is why that boss DOUBLE pissed me off, when you're working that hard and that willing why be so horrible!

I HATE him if i didn't tellyou lately LOL but the new guy over me is my favorite in the whole department and he's looking out for me thank GOD.

Hey Valorie:
They tell me it will be tomorrow before I will know anything. Doctor is on rounds today and will read test tomorrow morning. They are usually pretty good about keeping me informed promptly. Hope I don't have to eat those words. Soon as I know I'll let you know.

I read on this post where you are a sales rep for a decal company. Maybe you can make me a decal for Sadam. "When you stopped listening I stopped talking and now it doesn't hurt anymore" ya think that's too wordy or what. Hey I just wrote the perfect line for a country western song. Now if I can get trains, mom and apple pie in there. How are you doing? Aches and pains still giving you problems? I hope it has eased up a lot. Stay well and stay in touch. Dale

The nupogen kicks in on me quickly and the whites shoot up. I take a half dose each week but now he wants me back on a full dose. I knew before my test came back it was the nuetrophils again because of the back pain, dry throat and joints pain increase. Breathing gets much harder for me too. Keep the info coming though all of it helps. Thanks so much. Dale

I see a hep specialist, and when we decided I would treat he made all the arrangements with "PharmaCare" (specialty RX)
They called me after getting all the approvals, and gave me the date I would go in for my first shot (they talk to you, and lend moral support) while you take shot #1.
Then they asked if I would do my shots on Thursday or Friday these are the only 2 choices,I dont know why that is. They send me a 4 week supply of prefilled syringes and a 4 week supply of riba on ice packs, it is waiting on my doorstep when I get home from work.
They have my credit card #,and Im charged 45.00 each time they ship a pkg. Pretty simple really. The first 4 weeks I had to go for labs every thursday(shot day) now I go once a month.
Tonight I will do shot #8
I think if a person is able to see a liver specialist that is really the way to go, they do know their stuff a little bit better.

My insurance company didn't give me the option. My riba comes from a mail order pharmacy and that works fair but I have had to pay fedex charges because of their screw ups or had to run to local places to get just enough to get me by. The Pegasys has to come from McKesson Pharmacy somewhere in outerspace. I say that because they have been a royal pain to deal with or to rely on. Twice my doctor has had to send nurses out to find injection for me just so I wouldn't miss a shot of Nupogen. They are doing better but I would sure rather look someone in the eye that is suppose to be furnishing my drugs in a timely fashion. Good luck to you and I'm probably the exception to the bad pharmacy rule I'm sure everyone in here has had a very pleasant experience with their providers:) Dale

why would touching them make a difference?  I assume your talking about the shots....I can't see the pills rubbing off on skin or anything.

Is it the possibility of fluid leaking from the pen and being absorbed into a pregnant woman's skin?

Just curious.   Minds with nothing better to do want to know.....

My insurance covers the pegasys under medical coverage.  I have a deductible to cover yearly.  This year I had my gallbladder out so that covered my deductible.  my copegus is $10.00 a month.  I take Lexapro which is $80.00 (it's so nice the insurance covers everything up to the 80.00 for lexapro and the cost is 81.92 so incurance pays 1.92)  I shouldn't complain because they have covered a lot with me the past 6 months and gave me no trouble with my meds.  Also my pegasys is delivered via courier.

Did someone say tent...as in pup tent?!

Excellent point don't EVER let her even handle the bottles at ALL they are THAT dangerous to the fetus.

Silly as it sounds...I hope you are using protection with her perhaps right now that stuff just scares me

Gloves I mean ;-)

I only pay $7.50 for my Int and also for the Riba. I am very lucky that it only costs $15.00 a month. Of course add in the other 25 meds and it gets expensive but $45 is ouchy to me.
