high CK

Hi, has anyone had high CPK muscle enzyme levels from Hep-c. Iam not on any meds, Doc's have done tests and say it's " most likely " from the Hep-c

CPK is a marker for muscle injury. Have you worked out recently? Hard? Have you had any heart attacks or heart problems?

I never heard of CPK having anything to do with Hep C... I don't know why it would.

I am not a doctor, just a patient who has dealt with high CPK levels. In my case, it was intense exercise.

I have also had (slightly elevated)CPK levels over the yrs. Dr. checked levels because was complaining of muscle pain. His explaination of it that is whas do to muscle inflammatoin but never mentioned any correlation to hep-c.

Thanks for your responce. I have not had any muscle injury or done any hard  workouts. CK has been high,700 for at least a year since a new doc i started seeing brought it to my attention. She sent me to a nuerolgist who did some blood work that came back neg. and told me its from the Hep-c. Think i shoul see somone else?

Well, like I say, I'm no doc, but I've never heard of elevated Cpk being related to HCV. It is quite elevated though. If it were me, I would want to find out why.

I can tell you that I have HCV but my cpk levels are perfectly normal unless I blow it out at the gym.
