holy **** the itching is driving me crazy

so how long after the itching should one expect to die from liver failure? and what are the  signs of failure

You need to tell us more than just that you are itching. Many things can cause this and you needn't jump to the conclusion that you will die soon of liver failure.

what else would you like to know?  i have hep c, i was diagnosed about18 years ago and it never really reared its ugly head untill i had back surgery in 06. i was on vicadin from 12/05 to 12/06 and i can tell you this when i came off of it and i was in pain,, my liver felt like it was the size of a watermelon. i was vomiting alot, and my urine was the color of dark tea, and i have pretty much got it somewhat under control, i drink only bottled water, take concentrated milk thistle 4.1 mix makes it 1,000 miligram per dose, the itching has stoped long ago, i only get small spurts now and then, i dont drink any booze stop eating red meat all the time i drink alot of whey protien and alot of fruit and veggies, no oils or butter, anything that will clog my liver up, and when i get some med insurance i will go back to my doctor and opt for the ribvravrin and other meds to irradicate it from my body,,,, but when is the queston,

Probably the itching was from the Vicodin - really it would have nothing to do with hepc as far as I would know as you aren't on the meds which cause it.

The "when?" question will depend (to a large degree) on the results of your liver biopsy.  Have you had one yet?  Also, what is your genotype?
