You should ask your doctor about the pain medication. It would depend on your level of liver damage. My level of damage is very little and I have had a couple surgeries and taken pain medication both times. I was also up front with my doctors about my Hep C. They always ordered extra bloodwork on me, mainly to make sure my blood clots normally. It reassured me that they were good doctors. Good luck.
