how often do you have blood work done?

I am on rebetrol and peg intron 4 wks now. I was doing some reading and saw that blood work should be done several times in the first month . My dr hadn't done any I called today and they said oh yea come on in. I am wondering if I should change docs.Also need some info on viral loads. Any one with their results..
