husban complete hep c treatment has severe leg pain?

My husband completed hep c treatment and has severe leg pain.  What kind of pain is it Fibromyelgia or neuropathy pain?  Husband was told to excerise by the gastro specialist.  Had an ultrasound and nothing.  Now has an appointment with a neurogist on Friday.  We need answers.  He has been sick for 1 year with the treatment and now this.  Please help!! that will give an overview. The neurologist appointment is exactly what should be done at this point. All the possibilities you mentioned in your last post are his specialty. It's the type of things they diagnose and treat.

How long ago did he finish treatment for Hep C?

I too went through a year to get bad news but I also have bad pains in my legs around the knees. I was never told it was from the treatment but It might be from age, although I never had a problem before the treatment. They will never blame it on the treatment so now I just live with it.

The package inserts say that these drugs can cause autoimmune problems and I have heard of hundreds of kinds of autoimmune diseases that have been discovered in the past couple decades. Many attack the nervous system and cause sever pain. They can also continue to get worse if left untreated so if the doctor you see can't figure out what the problem is, find another one. Don't let them just blame aging... we deserve to be happy and healthy as we age just like anybody else.

I hope all of the pains are dealt with.

Sorry to hear about your husbands troubles...It would be difficult for anyone here to be able to tell you exactly what is causing his pain.It may be a residual effect of the meds, as they seem to affect everyone uniquely.I hope the neuologist can  give him some answers and ultimately have some ideas to give him some relief.

You say severe leg pain...is it in the muscles, joints or does it seem right in the bone?

Initially, I would talk to your Neurologist about Rheumatoid Arthritis at least to rule it out. There is a specific test that can be done for this. I'm not suggesting at all this is what your husband may have, just giving you a starting point to rule in or rule out some things and start a dialogue with your neurologist.  There are a number of people who experienced joint pain after treatment that didn't exist prior to treatment.  Some of those people found relief up to a couple of years after treatment and I'm starting to notice, seems to me, that my joint pain is subsiding, cautiously optimistic on that score.
