It must be scarey finding you're pregnant, let alone having HVC.   DON'T feel guilty that you're on methadone, but celebrate that you're drug-free - you WILL be methadone free one day, and HVC free one day also - work towards both of those targets for you both!!!

And a beautiful wee sibling for your little boy... that's wonderful!!!   Now.... NO MORE DENIAL - this is just another mountain to climb, so get prepared, get informed so that your future can give you the rewards.... and don't get despondant or give up;  this will be another battle and another test of your courage, conviction and faith.     Congratulations IS in order for you and your expanding family!!

Welcome,
I hope you are on a low dose of methadone and whatever you do, please don't use anything else.  Unfortunately I've seen first hand what happens when a methadonian gets strung out on stuff during pregnancy and delivers a baby.  It will reduce you to tears, as it is so hard on the poor innocent baby.  I suggest you stay on the methadone, but try to lower your dose.  Don't do anything drastic, methadone clinics tell ladies who are preggers that the delivery will be fine.  Talk to your ob'gyn as all I am is another methadonian with an opinion, but I'm not on maintenance and I'm male.  Oh, I just went back up and I see that you've been clean for 2.5 years.  That's damn good!!  My hat is off to you, talk to the doctor or your counselor at the clinic on whether you need to consider lowering your dose.  Since you been clean so long, you may be better off leaving your dose level right where your at and don't even trip about the HepC till your baby is taken care of for a couple to 5 years.  Good Luck and God Bless

You can't treat whilst you are pregnant or nursing your baby.
Forget about it for now.
As a young woman you should be able to get yourself cured by taking nasty drugs for six to eighteen months in due course.
You probably won't have any symptoms at this stage and it takes many years for Hep C to do any real harm.
See a specialist hepatologist who will monitor you and get you treated when the time is right.
No alcohol for you at all though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
