Thank you everyone i will keep you posted
Like others I think there is something very wrong. That is why the doc wants your husband to come back in to get his blood work re done.
I pray that he is UND
Mistakes so happen with the blood work, I pray that it was happened to your husband
Take Care

Sounds like to me that his doctor did an EOT pcr a week early? He could of had a pcr at 4 week and again at week 12 and was und. If so then he had a breakthur anywhere from week 12 until week 23, if so that would account for that high of a viral count......... An EOT pcr is a good ideal and is just for this reason, a week early is maybe odd but if one was still und at that time then a breakthur would be very unlikely............ Good luck.
Hopefully the test is wrong. That does not sound right at all. I am not sure what protocol is for GEno 3 but surely there were some other VL tests besides weeks 4 and 24 (and I am confused about the 23 or 24 week test too.)
Not much you can do until the second PCR is run.. Surely this is wrong.

humpfffff I missed that part it is very odd did they not continue his PCRs during treatment? I'm just perplexed about this whole thing. Which is nothing shocking on a Friday afternoon at all.......didnt' they test him since week 4???????? So many questions (ie: what was the sensitivity of the test etc etc etc).
According to bahamasnut, her husband had his last shot yesterday so looks like he was still taking interferon when he had the PCR done which would have been wk 23? Very weird.
Yes that would be one helluva relapse to have just happened recently in fact I have never heard of such a thing. Didn't they test him 4 weeks after he stopped treatment, I think I had one at 4 weeks post and then 8 weeks post (i had a false positive but it was a total count of 63) and then 12 and then 24.
At what week did he have his last PCR before this most recent one? Even though geno 3 is known to be tricky, that's a helluva breakthough and while it's not impossible it doesn't seem likely and I would think the doctor feels the same way which is why her ordered another PCR. Definitely would be questioning those results, especially if he's had a PCR within the last 4-6 wks and was UND.
