ice

ice

Another issue/question regarding Pegasys and Pegintron.

My current Pegasys seringes were shiped in a box full of ice packs and I have to keep it in the fridge.

My Pegintron 5 years ago, as far as I remember, was not shipped/kept over ice

Anybody knows if ice makes a difference, especially if it has anything to do with the response of the pacient?

In other words, somebody treated with this med kept over ice, vs somebody treated with same med kept at room temperature, will see a difference?

There must be a reason for the ice I think.

Thank you

My PegIntron comes shipped on ice.  It is in a dual chamber Redipen.  Different formulations of drugs are stable at different temperatures.  The manufacturer is required to run studies to verify the stability of the drug formulation at the recommended storage temperature.  Because you Pegasys came on ice I'm assuming the directions tell you to store in the refrigerator.
