increasing ribba dosage in week 36

anyone with experience on a  72 week therapy of increasing ribba from 1200 to1600 daily?

What were considered the benefitsand any issues.

My personal reason had a breakthrough (70)and HIV.Hep C co-infected harder to treat ,but spezialist believes I have 30 to 50% to clear on 72 weeks,but suggested increasing ribba-
Started a few days ago 1600 per day,.

Hi there - sorry to hear that you had a breakthrough this far into your treatment. I am also HIV/Hep C co-infected and the success rate is lower and the relapse rate is higher for co-infected folks. I have not heard of anyone in San Francisco having their riba increased after a breakthrough - usually treatment is stopped. The 30 - 50% probability of success seems overstated to me. But I don't recall seeing any studies on this for mono-infected or co-infected people on increasing riba after relapse this far along.

Is it possible that your last PCR test was wrong? This can happen so it is a good idea to get a new PCR ASAP if you haven't. From your other post, it looks like you started treatment while you were in the acute phase and have no liver damage. Recent studies show much faster progression to fibrosis for co-infected people. Are you having any bad side effects? Given there aren't any other good options now, it seems worth trying the increased riba unless side effects get too horrible.
