injection question

I have a quarter size red rash at injection site...(1st injection last fri.) how long does it take for them to go away, and is this normal??

also...re toothbrushes...should one get new toothbrushes weekly?(i think i read that someone does this to avoid reinfecting) does soaking them in hydrogen peroxide get rid of any virus?

thanks
jools

The red spots I get usually last for about 3 weeks  lol and actually is just gone away about the time I have to rotate back to that spot.  I do thigh's and stomach.  Someone had once told me that some of their injection reactions lasted well past TX but they only did thighs and my nurse told me to do both to keep from that happening.  it seems to be working.
I was concerned about the reinfection thing too so I bought a bunch of toothbrushes and have been changing mine once a month regardlesss of whether I could have reinfected myself.  Just figured that on TX it was healthier.

The rash is normal.  It will go away in a week or so.  Just in time for your next shot!  :0)

I always did my shots in my stomach and got a mark everytime and those marks stayed for quite awhile. I made a design out them.

I also heard about the toothbrush thing and I think it was a joke but the more I thought about it the more it made sense, so I changed at my 12 weeks point and then every month after. Good luck with your treatment.

I've found that abdomen shots bruise much less than thigh shots.  But, thigh shots are much more fun.

I used my thighs.   I did not like doing it in my belly.  ANyway just switch legs and by the time you get back to it you should be pretty good.  There were a couple of times I had to put it in a different area.  I hardly felt anything and that is comming from a true chicken.

Yes that's normal. When I first started they lasted longer than they do now. Sometimes I don't even get them at all. It was worse if I used my thigh rather than my stomach as an injection site.

Never heard about the toothbrush thing.

Reinfecting YOURSELF .....hmmmmmmm. Is that even possible ?
