insomnia problems

by justamom1, Apr 13, 2002 12:00AM
Happy Saturday to all. I have had my viral load blood test and am currently waiting for the results. In the meantime, I have been unable to sleep at night since starting the treatment 13 weeks ago. I can fall asleep, but do not stay asleep. I have tried tylenol PM, drinking chamomile tea, etc. I tried something called sonata, too and it didn't work. Yesterday, the doc gave me Doxepin. (75mg) Apparently it has been around for a long time. Doc told me 2-3 every night. So, last night, took three and I have been groggy, lightheaded and very, very cranky.(Still woke up once or twice-briefly) I have tried to pick fights with my husband and the kids. I have apologized, but its been one heck of a day today. Hope I won't be like this tomorrow. What other sleeping medications do the rest of you take? Sorry to vent, just would like to sleep 8 straight hours for a change and wake up feeling good...Justamom
