Great goin' Bob! Now here's my plan, ya can't live all that far from me-CT is smaller than some ranches in Texas- so being as the exercise made you feel bettern all, ya can shovel MY driveway this winter, I won't even charge ya.

I just spent 45 minutes back outside in the dimmiing light, grumpy 13yro in tow, RE-shovelin what I already shoveled, because the keys from the borrowed car musta fell out of my pocket earlier. Neighbors musta got a kick outta that-the 2 of us tossing shovels of snow straight up in the air, waiting for the keys to fall out. Him moanin and groanin - "How could you lose Auntie Lins keys-she'll kill you! We'll never find em!" He turned to go in the house and look there again and shouts - BINGO!!-on top of some snow I threw in the yard earlier.
Ah-perserverance grasshopper.

Lackaloster, thanks for starting this great thread, and for the link. I went to the web site - it's good.

I did get out and shoveled snow for about an hour today. I didn't get tired at all, and I feel good now. I'm glad I did it; now I can get the car out if I want. I've found that I really can do physical work with tx. Sometimes it just seems like I should "baby" myself, but it's actually better to get out and get some exercise.

AWESOME! Must be beautiful music to your ears! I always loved Nat King Cole. Love the song. Did you do a duet? Sounds like the making of a great video.
Enjoy the day, a big thanks for sharing the good news.

Good for you - now you have a wait of a few days.  Knowledge, gained here and elswhere, certainly makes us informed patients.

By the way, things I would never do while on riba:     1. Buy a car   2. Deal with the DMV.  3. Wallpaper a bathromm with my wife.   At this point running a marathon would be easier than those three.  I don't know how you managed snow shoveling.

Ice-- it sounds like you are doing the right thing at least opening up and admitting the problem (as an AA person, you already know the importance of that step). Whatever you decide about the ADs, just try to keep your long term goals in mind. Wishing you the best.

Chev-- Hi honey!! Miss you. I'm sorry I'm not around as much as I'd like to be. Hope you are well.

Strator-- my eyes are getting SOOO bad that I can barely read. What week are you on? Have you seen an eye dr?

Cuteus,
I just noticed your inquiry about me from last week or so. Thank you so much for thinking of me. I have been incredibly busy w/ work and my daughter, plus my vision is deteriorating so much that reading the posts takes much more time. I am well. Will be doing # 32 today. How are all of you? I am still around, but only in small doses.

Sat will be shot 13. I'm overdue for the eye dr -it's been a year. They don't give me a strong prescription(just for close up and reading)but the eye dr suggested I just use $1 store reading glasses. Some days I can actually read without glasses.

Of course it's worse when I'm tired (oh that's all the time) and they are sensitive to light since being burned 30yrs ago from 3 hrs drawing under my art spotlight, not realizing my brother had switched to a sunlamp bulb -I thought it was the psychedelics I was on. Some days on tx they seem much more sensitive to light, especially outside.
My eyes were getting relatively worse the last few years from age anyways, and straining them over the yrs with detail work on my paintings.

It's a snow day today here in CT - maybe I'll make an eye appt after I go  finish registering this car I just got. I've been trying for 3 days - and it's making me crazy. Everytime I get to DMV they find another missing paperwork problem. Everytime I get off the phone with the 'alleged' licensed car dealer I paid for the car I find myself plotting dark twisted things for him- and I have to go kneel down and pray for him. Well okay-right now I'm just praying I don't kill him.
Have a fun day all-I gotta go shovel out

another day-we r getting major snow today!!!!!!!!!!!--i am wondering how things look today in your hemisphere? when i was suspecting the world of sh*tting on me exclusively:when my thots kept returning to any&all percieved slights,wrongs,injustices--#***%#!!!!!--i dragged myself to the phone, callede the Doc& convinced him to send a script to pharmacy--i took !st pill in the parking lot--i am ,i guess sensitive to drugs(don't no why, sure hve taken enuff under the counter, think i would have strong resistance) cuz things started looking better pronto.......the change was near instantaneous& profound..I wish yu were a neighbor..I would hand deliver--"THE Good Humor Man"--well least until the riba kicks my butt this A.M. But tis not the case,,call that Doc of yours, make him prescibe something --"fast Acting"--you hav treatment induced depression, don't try to ride it out!!--hell ,thats American Cowboy stuff-we don't want you riding off into the sunset with John Wayne!!!!!music, movies, art, sex, humor can be solace in times like this...But no replacement for appropriate AD's---Treat thyself, man  GOODLUCK& please post

Remember, This is a chemical imbalance in your brain, brought on by the tx drugs. It's not a weekness or something you can will away. ADs can help to restore the balance. Be well.

lots of good suggestions from all! And you still have to decide what is best for YOU! what you are ready to deal with and what you are ready to ignore.  Do you want to deal with the possible sides of the ADs or the ones from severe depression?
If you and your dr feel that you are not clinically depressed and in need of intervention with meds, then you wait it out. If you are ready for evening out your moods, the meds might help.
Exercise is a definite mood lifter, any form of physical exercise.
I had a bout with depression in 96 and my GI wanted to put me on ADs before tx. I remembered some of the unpleasant sides from them and told her I would play it by ear. About 3 months into tx I went into an emotional black hole. It was a void of emotions; no anger, sadness, joy, nothing. It was scary, nothing seemed to help, not even a walk by the beach. After 3 wks, and when I was ready to call for ADs, it started lifting.  After that, apathy was pretty common, but not to the point of wanting chemical assistance. I chose to wait it out, and it got better. I am glad I did not need them. NOt every one will be that lucky.  Have someone close to you assess any dramatic changes, they can see things we choose to ignore. Do what you must to improve your QOL.
I pushed myself to go to the Y twice a wk, I think that helped my moods and physical being.  Petting a cat or dog is supposed to be a mood enhancer also, I did that too.
Lauren, glad you are keeping busy. We were worried about Don Alfonso. He has not checked in.
stay well.

GOOD FOR YOU DON!!! Sometimes the "quacks" put us through such pointless stress. I get riba rage just reading what they put you through. Do we really have to tell them how to do their jobs? OK, I'll remember my AA slogans: "easy does it", "live and let live", etc., etc., etc.....

I was going to go shoveling snow too, but now it's snowing some more. I never found the newspaper this morning; it'll probably turn up in the spring. It's kind of nice to be snowed in today. I can just relax, drink a green tea and read the hep c forum. Take care.

funny, that is one of the reasons I did not like them, I could not even feel like crying when I saw my daughter in the process of packing to move to California. A NORMAL emotion of sadness at my daughter's departure and I could not experience it.  Not how I want to feel.  It is really a matter of what we are willing and ready to deal with, whether is tx, meds or depression. I felt that if it was not severe depression, I would try and manage without ADs.  It worked for me. But there is a need to be hypervigilant so as to not get swallowed by the black hole.
glad is working so well for you
