is there pain with Hep c stage 4 liver disease

I have been diagnosed with stage 3 liver disease with stage 4 fibrosis due to hep c. I feel a hardness just below my rib cage on either side and a small amt. of pain. I am having an ultrasound this month but wonder if this is something to worry about or not.

Thanks..will have that checked out. I don't want to get myself in a panic but its kinds scary. I have an ultrasound on Apr. 23 or will ask the doc to check out the kidneys.

If you have pain on both sides of your rib cage you might want to check for kidney stones.

Yeah, I did both the pegysus and the pegatron five years apart but I had already had the hep for over twenty years. I quit the pegysus after five months and the pegatron didn't work after three months so they pulled me off of it. In canada, we are funded thru our medical services so they don't waste any time removing off of it if the drug isn't working.I wish they could come up with something that a person could take daily just to slow down the hep. I was told by a doc in Washington University that in the very near future, that there may be a chance that we can get stem cell treatments that kill the hep and regenerate the liver back to normal. I pray thats gonna happen for all of us.Have you heard of this?

It's different for everyone.
Some people with stage  4 disease feel fine others don't.
There is no rule that you have to experience pain.
Have you done ant-viral therapy?
