is this post tx sx or something else

this Friday will be my 3rd week post tx. Feeling great, energy level coming back. However, at night I am still having problems sleeping. Last night it was due to my lower extremities and hips just aching  BADLY!!! What could be causing this?? Maybe just the meds still trying to leave my system?? I cant lay on either side for a brief time because it starts hurting. So I'll switch sides, same thing. I will lay on my back and my hips begin to hurt. Feels like the feeling the day after shot.. IT SUCKS!!!
Any suggestions??
Thanks all

There is quite a debate about what constitutes post treatment effects and whether they are down to the medication or not. There is a very interesting survey on a British Hep C  site which is collecting post treatment side effects and shows that 30% plus of people are reporting a range of symptoms, amongst which joint pain is of the most common.

I had no joint pain before or during treatment but a few weeks after I stopped i got very noticeable pain and weakness in my knees which made it difficult (but not impossible) to walk. This went away after a bit and I got painful and weak wrists which made it hard to lower myself into a bathtub and harder to lift myself out. That also faded after a month or two, and it moved to my fingers and thumbs. The affected fingers get very swollen and sore, but after a time this too improves. It tends to affect one area at a time but it is still a problem 21 months after treatment. I am lucky in that it doesn't really affect my life too much. I wake up with a lot of joint pain each morning, but it eases off as I move about.

I can't say whether your hip joint pain is a similar thing to mine, but I would hazard a guess that it is. The length of time people have to put up with this seems to vary a lot. Good luck and I hope your symptoms improve soon.

I had extreme pain in my hips while sleeping a few days after stopping tx.  It only lasted a few days and the pain came and went.  I took ibuprofen and it took the pain away.  That was in February and I haven't had any pain since then.

Sorry about your pain, but glad to know I am not alone. I started having the hip pain but only on the left, while I was on tx. On bad days I had to lift my leg with my hand to get into the passenger side of an SUV. Nights were the worst because it's impossible to find a comfortable position. I stopped tx 10 weeks ago and it's gradually gotten much better. It was like a long drawn out cold. You're so used to being uncomfortable, it takes a while to realize you're actually getting better.
Prayers that you feel better soon.

PS I tried all kinds of stretches and that was either a coincidence or they actually helped.
PS AGAIN Congratulations on finishing tx!

I am 1 week post tx and I to have noticed joint pain in my hands and also the neuropathy feeling in them in the AM. I was wondering if it was a sx effect from the medicine. I did not have it on tx.
