I would urge you to see a dermatologist ASAP on an urgent basis. If you have a rash, you can use a strong prescription steroid cream. If you are itching, you can use a stronger prescription antihistamine.

I had severe itching and bad rash issues. I itched all over and the rash was everywhere. Benadryl and over the counter hydrocortisone creams did absolutely nothing. My dermatologist prescribed Hydroxyzine 50 mg every 6 hours as needed. (I needed it every 6 hours for several months.) She also prescribed Fluocinonide ointment for my body, Hydrocortisone Valerate cream for my face, and Clobetesol solution for my scalp. Those prescriptions got me through treatment. I did 48 weeks of treatment and I never decreased any doses of any of my medications. I attained SVR.

Itching is miserable and is as disturbing as pain. There is no reason to endure the itching. Please seek help immediately. Your treating MD can prescribe the medications, but if he/she will not, then see a dermatologist ASAP and get some relief. It is not worth risking treatment failure when you can continue the treatment if your side effects are appropriately addressed.

Be sure they order a high enough dose of th Hydroxyzine and a strong enough prescription steroid cream/ointment.

Best of luck.

I had itching and rashes right throughout treatment.
My lower back, chest and 'privates' drove me crazy nearly all the time.
I also found an increase in the rashes in the last 2-3 months of treatment.
I dealt with them with a variety of steroid ointments, gentler creams so give the skin a rest, antihistamines, ice, cold facewashers and wearing cotton clothes.
I slathered my privates with a mix of cortisone creams (ointment was better there) and pawpaw ointment or similar. Around the anal area I used topical ointments for the itch, if that's a problem.
If it's just the itchiness of the rash that is the problem and not the rashes themselves, and your doctors have had a good look at them, then be strong and, grit your teeth and know that the clearing forever of the virus is why we go through this crap. It can be sooo miserable.
Good luck.

I just managed it. Just.
