I thought you had finished.  Is this post bloodwork?  How long post?  I'd love to know.

ast, alt glucose and bili all normal.  Platelets are terrific.

Other hemotology is all below normal, some of them very far below normal.

Sorry, must have confused your screen name with a similar (don't even try to keep things straight anymore).

I was in the boc naive try and got out at 28 wks.  Your CBC is normal for a boc trial, better than normal.  Hct is normal, rbc only a little low, wbc only a little below normal.  I wonder how I should read your neuts.  MY normal range values go 1.96-7.23, so is it 5.23(normal) or 523?  Don't think it can be 53.2, since my first, very successful Neulasta shot only took me up to 13.38 with a wbc of 15.75 (neuts are part of total wbc) IF they are actaully 523 you need to use neulasta or neupogen to get them up.  Some folks can go a little low and be okay; I got a kidney infection.  If they go all the way down it's a bone marrow meltdown (sepsis) and extremely dangerous.  Look at the normal values on the lab report and that can help you see how to read them.

Remember that riba suppresses red blood cells (HGB), interferon suppresses neuts and platelets and Boceprevir suppresses both neuts and reds (hgb).  See if you can get a clarification on how to read that one. At every clinic visit I asked for copies of the last labs.

I still can't get over your fabulous platelet count!  MIne stayed crashed but I have extensive liver damage.  Such a great platelet count could possibly indicate that you had minimal liver damage or that there is some liver repair going on there.

Virgocharm reported his neuts as a percentage (52.3) and that is basically a normal neutrophil count.

Duh, should have thought that he was reading the percentage.  The percentage is just how many of the total whites the neutrophils make up. If there are few whites in total, the percentage doesn't tell you much.  The number is more useful.  On my labs they list both the count and percentage.  Count is top set of numbers on mine and normal is listed as 1.96 - 7.23 x 10 to the 3rd./uL.  The numbers actually mean a count of 1960 to 7230.

If you are in the US, patients have a right to copies of their labs.  Don't be shy about asking.
