ladies~ menstration irregularities?

ladies~ menstration irregularities?

I am at the beginning of tx.  Did shot #2 last night- 8 days of tx down!  (180mcg/wk Peg. & 800mg/day Riba)  My question is this- any irregularities with menstration cycles?
Thanks!

Prior to tx...mine was like clockwork....
3 mos. into tx...cycle just stopped
All summer had hot flashes
1 1/2 mos. ago had labwork done
Test indicated i am 'post' menopausal!!!

I have heard it returns for some woman after tx?????

Asked Gyno and Hep Dr....they just shrugged their shoulders....
I posted this in the Cohosh post...I would really appreciate anyone
who has had a similiar experience...and if they had a SVR.

All he Best To all You Woman out there!...and men too...

Same thing happened to me on peg, and it never came back.

But  early menopause also runs in my family. I do not miss it!  I have read studies that this is not uncommon with HCV.   I have actually been surprised to not read more about it on here.

Estrogen is distributed passes through the liver.

I used to have some good info on this subject,  but not any more. Will keep digging.

I am not SVR, but answered you anyway.

I'm wondering if there is a correlation (sp?). Interesting that this is both are 3rd time 'round. I hope there is none. When Foresee mentioned estrogen good for liver....just don't know........anyway, at least you're doing really well this go 'round.

I too am kinda glad that I didn't have to deal with pms...as well as tx. Thinkin' about it...i guess this summer I went through menopause.....ah well...what's next?

Regular periods prior to tx.,  Tx put me into menopause (1 or 2 mths after starting). Now svr 18 mths.  Horrible hotflashes post tx, none during tx, period has not returned

That is a good point, I hadn't thought about, both of us the 3rd time.
There are some studies about estrogen and HCV.

So I guess my question is if this or family history has thrown me into early menopause, does that lower my chances of SVR?

Your welcome LadyWhy,

nice chatting with you

there is a really good thread going about thyroids, but it explains alot about estrogen. Worth a read!

Hypothyroidism Caused by Treatment???

Mine stopped completely the first month of treatment and then came back the first month after.  I was bumming big time thinking I skated away easy!

Note:  disappearing or lighter ones can mean thyroid issues...although you are pretty early for that in my case it turned out to be true.

I guess with everything else during treatment - it's a very individual thing you just can't predict at all!
